Today, Dubrovnik is one of the safest cities in the world. However, the historical archives of Dubrovnik hide many records of criminal cases from the past that were part of everyday life. We will reveal to you some of the most prominent and intriguing cases including stories of brutal murders and conspiracies, but also of forbidden relationships and the usage of poisons. However, the punishments were much more imaginative than today! Learn all about the judicial system of the old Republic of Dubrovnik. Note that we will finish inside the Rector's Palace, which is Dubrovnik'd historical museum. There we will see the old courthouse with surviving prison cells. The entry fee is not part of the price for the tour, there is an additional 100 kunas fee that you'll have to pay at the entrance to the museum.
